Business Story

In 2019, I took a bold step in my career—turning years of experience gained from multiple companies into the foundation of my own business venture. What began with a deep interest in electronics and a passion for problem-solving soon transformed into a wide-reaching and technically diverse service business. The name of my business is Auto Industry Lanka Holding (Private) Limited, a company I established to deliver innovative and reliable engineering solutions across multiple industrial sectors.

🧩 The First Steps: From Circuits to Construction

My journey started with printed circuit board (PCB) design, using the technical knowledge I had built over the years. With growing confidence and client trust, I expanded into larger projects, securing subcontracts at major construction sites. My team and I began handling installations of security systemsfire detection systems, and full-scale electrical wiring solutions.

Driven by my interest in technology and innovation, I also introduced home automation services, helping clients upgrade their living spaces with smart solutions.

🔧 Expanding Horizons: Industrial Machinery & Heavy Equipment

As the business matured, I shifted my focus towards industrial machinery—especially hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems. My work soon expanded to repairing construction-related equipment such as welding machinesgenerators, and compressors. These high-demand services not only tested my full skill set but also opened the door to a new level of profitability.

💰 A Profitable Path: Investing in Surface Technology

Encouraged by financial growth, I reinvested in an exciting new area—PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating. I purchased a chrome plating machine, which was non-functional at the time. With my technical expertise, I personally repaired the machine, and we successfully plated our first sample of ornaments. This move had the potential to take the business into high-value manufacturing.

📃 Going Official

Though the business began in 2019, I officially registered it as a private limited company in 2022, reflecting the growth and seriousness of the work I had built. (Registration certificate available below.)

🌍 Facing Reality: A Tough Turn

However, like many small businesses in Sri Lanka, we were hit hard by the economic crisis, along with the challenge of sourcing reliable materials and quality electronic parts. Despite the effort and potential, I had to make a difficult decision—to pause my business operations and take a new step forward.

In 2023, I migrated to Malaysia to seek international experience and greater stability. Though the business didn’t reach its full potential, I carry the invaluable lessons, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset with me every day.

This journey reflects more than just business—it's a story of adaptability, technical excellence, and relentless ambition. And while the path has shifted, my commitment to innovation and hands-on problem-solving remains the same.
